Due to a complete lack of experience, I am unable to color digitally.
I found that I do not understand color at all, digital or otherwise, but at least with watercolors I've managed to wing it by slapping stuff on until it looks somewhat done.
No go with computer color...
What should I do? Where do I go for help? Do you guys have tips? I know like at least two thirds of you are brilliant at coloring digitally hahaha help me D:

Choice 1:
I am paying for a flight to Japan and then China. The flight leaves from LAX -> NRT (Tokyo) on 8/17, and then I book a separate roundtrip on 8/25 that takes me from NRT -> PVG (Shanghai) where a friend said I could crash for a couple days but whom I have since not been able to contact. (=A=) So I would probably be alone in Shanghai. I would then take the train from Shanghai to Beijing where my relatives live and spend some time in Beijing, and possibly visit some other parts of China as well (I can plan as I go along so that's not really important). I would then fly back to Tokyo on 9/7, stay for one more day, before flying back to LAX on 9/8 (although I haven't booked this leg yet so I can always change this). Then I would have to fly back from LA to SF, where I live.
Choice 2:
My mom wants to book me a very similar flight, except for three things 1) Every leg of the trip takes place one day later (i.e I'd leave on 8/18, go to China on 8/26, return on 9/9), 2) the flight returns to SFO instead of LAX, and 3) I would be flying into Beijing instead of Shanghai.
ISSUES INVOLVED:
1) The flight for Choice 2 costs $200 less overall (in part because there is no additional trip through LA). But after paying penalties for cancelling my current flight ($100+?) the difference won't be too huge. It will still cost less, however.
2) Routing through SFO (Choice 2) is much more convenient for me, because I live there, but especially because I am currently at a convention (hahahaha not I'm not at my table though coz this thing is driving me nuts and I can't focus). If I went through LAX (Choice 1) it would be a huge hassle for me and whoever is helping me out because I have so much con stuff. I think I would be able to work something out but not without inconveniencing a friend at the very least. Which I don't want to do.
3) I am leaving on 8/17 (Choice 1) in order to arrive by 8/18 to meet up with my friend who is leaving Japan on 8/20. With Choice 2, I would still get to see her in Tokyo if I take my mom's route, but for one less day.
4) I am trying to catch a convention upon returning to the US. But I don't have a table at that convention so if I end up not getting one my return date is a moot point. But Choice 2 would make it difficult for me to attend that convention as I would be returning to the US only one day before the convention. With Choice 1 I could return by Wednesday night at the soonest, which is really only 10-12 hours sooner than my mom's route, but that gives me enough time to fly out somewhere else.
5) I get mileage for all of Choice 2 (I think). For Choice 1 I don't get any mileage on the longest leg of my trip, (From LA to Tokyo). But my mileage would be with American Airlines, which is the most suckassest airline ever.
6) I don't really want to travel with my mom. Nothing against spending time with my mom as I plan to do so anyway while I am in China, but she is NOT fun to travel with. I would be traveling on my own in China for sure with Choice 1 but with Choice 2 I will probably be spending more time with her. She says I can go off on my own but uhhh I doubt it. (Usually when I go to China with her, 95% of my time is spent indoors watching TV. =_= Which is in my opinion the absolute dumbest way to spend a good chunk of free time.)
7) That said, I don't really want to go around Japan/China entirely alone either. Although this doesn't really affect my choice, it's just something else I am concerned about. In fact, my mom thinks I should cancel my entire trip and just go directly to Beijing with her for this reason. And I'm a little tempted to agree - it would kill my entire trip of course but I don't really want to vacation alone. (I am a terribly boring person and I know I will tend to do really boring things by myself. It's also more fun to be able to talk to other people. And while I am not at all against meeting random people I don't really want to be robbed and murdered...)
8) Again, this issue holds the same for either choice but I haven't worked out accomodations for either the Japan leg or the China leg. This is just something worrisome I guess. Choice 2 would make the China part less stressful I guess since I could always just stay w/ relatives or my mom.
I really should get back to my Artist Alley table as I have abandoned it for the last 2 hours (=________________=) with a nice staffer while freaking out over this stupid decision lol I SUCK AT MAKING DECISIONS.
I'll come back to this in an hour and hopefully by then I can come to a conclusion - I would need to know today since if I go with Choice 2, I would need to rebook my return airfare from the convention on Sunday, and then my mom would still need to purchase her routing ticket.
AHH BRAIN WHY YOU SO DUMB.

Anyone interested? If those dates don't work, I do have some flexibility, and the sale fare is on a wide range of dates with some restrictions.
